Back to the Future II 30th Anniversary

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future II, Pepsi partnered with ReedPOP Activate to create a launch strategy for Pepsi Perfect onsite at New York Comic Con 2015. ReedPOP Activate worked with Weber Shandwick (Pepsi’s Agency of Record) to create a surprise and delight campaign for NYCC Fans. The campaign consisted of a screening of Back in Time: A Back to the Future Documentary where it was announced that Pepsi was bringing back Pepsi Perfect in limited quantities. Less than 3,000 bottles were made available first to Fans that attended their morning NYCC panel, 88MPH: A Celebration of Back to the Future. In addition, ReedPOP Activate developed an activation strategy that consisted of a recreation of Café 80’s, the diner featured in the film. The  interactive booth included a replica DeLorean time machine and the Wild Gunman arcade game played by Marty McFly in the film. To sweeten the deal the first 200 Fans who showed up at the booth dressed as Marty McFly each day received a bottle of Pepsi Perfect.
