“Breaking Bad” Star Giancarlo Esposito To Appear At Vienna Comic Con

VIENNA (9th July 2015). – Vienna Comic Con is rolling out power-packed appearances that showcase some of the top pop culture talent from around the globe. In continuing its commitment to celebrate all things pop culture, Reed Exhibitions together with ReedPOP, the world’s largest producer of pop culture events such as the New York Comic Con, today announced that celebrated television, film and stage actor Giancarlo Esposito will be a star guest at Vienna Comic Con. His appearance at Vienna Comic Con will be exclusive within the European Union for 2015. Esposito, who in the series “Breaking Bad” stars as Gustavo “Gus” Fring, a respected business owner whose legitimate operations allow him the perfect front to distribute Walt’s (starred by Brian Cranston) blue meth throughout the Southwestern United States, will be present for autograph signings and pictures on both Saturday and Sunday (21 – 22 November). Esposito will also appear on the main stage and panels, and be available for interviews by appointment, and be  guest of honour at a private dinner (ticketed event) for a select group of very lucky fans.

Bio of Giancarlo Esposito

Giancarlo Esposito’s acting career spans over several decades. He most recently earned rave reviews and awards buzz starring in AMC’s critically acclaimed award-winning series “Breaking Bad” opposite Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. In 2012 Esposito won the Critics Choice Award as Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Gus. He also co-starred in JJ Abrams drama series for NBC, “Revolution” (2012-2014) and appeared as a crime boss opposite Tyler Perry in Lionsgate’s “Alex Cross” (2012). Esposito is also known for notable films such as “Rabbit Hole” (2010), “The Last Holiday” (2006), “The Usual Suspects” (1995) and “Smoke” (1995). His performances in Spike Lee’s films “School Daze” (1988), “Do the Right Thing” (1989), “Mo’ Better Blues” (1990) and “Malcolm X” (1992) are among his most memorable. Esposito’s other film credits include outstanding performances in “Sherrybaby” (2006), “Ali” (2001), “Nothing to Lose” (1996), “Waiting to Exhale” (1995), “Bob Roberts” (1992), “King of New York” (1990) and “Cotton Club” (1985). In 1995, Esposito was recognized for his incredible work in “Fresh” with a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award.

In 2007 through his production company, Quiet Hand Productions, Esposito made his feature directorial debut with the film “Gospel Hill”. He also co-starred with Danny Glover, Angela Bassett, Julia Stiles, Taylor Kitsch and Samuel L. Jackson. Quiet Hand Productions aspires to make “conscious content” films that focus on the inspirational. The company currently has four other projects in development, in which Esposito plans to direct, produce and co-star. One of these projects “This is Your Death” is an unflinching look at reality TV.
